AUTOMATIC GATES WADHURST

Fort Knox Security recently automated an existing wooden field gate. The main aim here was to give convenience to the owner. They own dogs and were concerned about them running out into the road. The gate serves two properties. 

 

Both properties required audio intercoms to communicate with visitors at the gate and this was made possible with the use of a Videx two-way wired audio intercom system which also combined as a keypad. 

 

The gate remains closed and can be opened by the occupants from their intercom handsets or by using a radio transmitter or by entering the code at the keypad. 

 

On exiting the property an induction loop senses a vehicle and triggers the gate to open, or when on foot you can use a button, which is hidden from sight. 

 

There was significant, 100m, cable run to deal with and we used a machine to trench out neatly and a turf cutter was used to ensure a nice tidy job. 

 

A BFT LUX 24v hydraulic operator was specified which meant that safety compliance was straight forward. The auto-set feature of this equipment means it’s easy. 

 

All this was installed in Wadhurst for 25% less than our competitors quote and was completed within 10 days from the customers first call to handover.
